Citystate Group

This group of companies was originally formed in 1987 to hold the interests of its principal shareholders, Mr Leow Siak Fah & Mr Ng Tian Ming, in the areas of insurance and reinsurance underwriting.

It has since expanded into a service oriented Group, with operations in Travel (Citystate Travel Group), Insurance Underwriting (EQ Insurance, Citystate Capital Asia), Insurance broking (Newstate Stenhouse Group), Property Development, Property Management, Food & Beverage, Arts & Events Management, and investments in Education (Julia Gabriel Education).

Currently consisting of around 40 companies, the Citystate Group employs over 1000 people, and operates in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, India and the Philippines.

Glenmarie purchased an interest in this group of companies from Mr Ng Tian Ming and currently holds around 48% of Citystate's outstanding equity. By the end of the 31st of December 2022 Citystate had achieved an annual gross revenue of over SGD $231 million.
